Mario's Galactic Adventure Trailer Is Here, Revealing Fresh Faces Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
The collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the initial complete preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this Wednesday. This occurred during a Nintendo-focused broadcast that centered on the upcoming animated film.
The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this fresh entry will propel Mario to the far corners of the galaxy. In his journey, he meets a different royal figure and a challenging new adversary in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
An Interstellar Journey Based on Beloved Titles
In the vein of the Wii-era games that serve as its inspiration, Mario will leave behind the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. On his epic voyage, he will reunite with some well-known personalities, for instance the Luma, a fan favorite from the previous film.
But it appears Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who apparently wields metal-based powers. Notably, the preview for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-themed scenes; it also contains hints to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Celebrity Voice Actors Reprise Roles and Welcome Newcomers
The feature will see the return of the initial voice actors, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Joining the cast for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri.
A Significant Period for Mario
Mario's latest cinematic adventure is scheduled to arrive near the 40-year celebration of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 promises to be a important time for Mario and his friends.
The company has three new games officially announced for 2026, including Mario Tennis Fever, a release on Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a latest Yoshi adventure game titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
